PURPOSE
To state the environmental and safety policy of
Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. and provide for the
expectation of compliance by every corporate business unit
and employee to ensure the
implementation of the policy.
SCOPE
The environmental and safety policy is the stated philosophy
of the corporation and
relates to all business operations and encompasses all group
and division components of
the corporation.
POLICY
Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. is
committed to protection of the environment, and the health
and
safety of its employees and customers. Our policy is to
provide our employees with a
workplace that is free of recognized hazards. We will comply
with all applicable local
environmental, safety and health rules and regulations.
Where local rules and regulations
are less stringent than the internal procedures of
Scientific-Atlanta, Inc., our internal
procedures will be followed. We will operate as an
environmentally responsible corporate
citizen.
COMPLIANCE
Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. will ensure that our employees have
the appropriate awareness
and knowledge, and are responsible and accountable for
incorporating environmental,
safety, and health considerations into daily business
activities. We will conduct
environmental, safety and health audits as appropriate to
validate operational compliance.
All employees are expected to
understand, promote and assist in the implementation of
and compliance with this policy. We require employees to
comply with all safety
requirements and to report any conditions they consider may
be unsafe either in our
workplace or our products. In the same manner, we expect
employees to comply with
environmental laws and requirements and to report any
environmental concerns.
