| Scientific Atlanta strives to be a good
corporate citizen and takes seriously its responsibility of
being a contributing member to the community. With corporate
citizenship as a core value, we are committed to taking an
active role in social, environmental and community concerns.
Through our Community Relations efforts, we work towards
solutions to difficult social problems and strive to improve
conditions in the community. Scientific Atlanta has a rich history of community service through its CareCorps volunteer program. Senior Managers take leadership roles by coordinating service projects, participating in walk-a-thons and building projects as well as serving on non-profit boards. Employees at every level of the company offer their support for company-sponsored programs benefiting organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Junior Achievement and FIRST Robotics. Not only do Scientific Atlanta employees generously give of their time and talents, in 2005 they collectively contributed over $500,000.00 to the American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and United Way annual campaigns as well as Gulf Coast and Tsunami Relief efforts. For decades, Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. has made charitable contributions to non-profit organizations enabling them to manage volunteers’ time, talents and energy more effectively. With the establishment of the Scientific Atlanta Foundation in 1999, the company ensured its ability to invest business dollars in a planned, consistent manner in communities where employees work and live. Each year, grants are made to 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charities whose efforts are focused in the following areas: education, health & human services, civic & community, and arts & culture. Support for communities is a key element of business, and at Scientific Atlanta, corporate citizenship is a business essential. Through Scientific Atlanta’s CareCorps volunteer efforts and Scientific Atlanta Foundation grants, we strive to improve the vitality, safety and well-being of our community. |
